It was also quite evident to Mani that the master said something different simultaneously to each of the innumerable disciples assembled there, and that everyone here received only his own answer to his very personal questions - whereas he did not at all notice the answers that were directed towards the others. With these thoughts the two finally reached a splendid hall of reception that shone like the sun in many shades of gold, sumptuously decorated with plants of jewels, and sat down on beautifully decorated chairs that stood there waiting. Sol placed the basket he had been carrying throughout the journey, and which his sister could not relieve him from, on a little golden table. Then he went to one of the golden sacrificial bowls into which the tendrils of the miraculous flowers poured the golden-white nectar of the star-streams, and filled two golden chalices from the inebriating heavenly drink. Finally he returned with the filled beakers to his sister, gave her one of them, and sat down at her side. They drank from the divine sap and immediately millions of streams of bliss unfolded within Mani again. Like her brother she closed her eyes too and sank into the golden-white shower of pure knowledge. When Mani woke up again from her deep inner world and slowly opened her eyes, she saw many boys and girls assembled in the hall chatting cheerfully with each other. In quite a number of groups they sat or stood at different places in the room and spoke lively about the various exercises they either had done or which they were planning to do. It was mostly mature, respectable men and women which Mani saw assembled there, and she concluded that they were mostly leaders of these exercises, or judges who had to judge the success of the individual exercises. Probably the big assembly was over, and now everyone apparently waited for some meeting with the master to conclude old exercises, to evaluate the results, and to prepare new exercises at the same time. Mani had never expected this systematic practical organization behind all these unbelievable phantastic exercises. Obviously, in the immediate vicinity of the wise ruler over this Island of Happiness all activity went on along very simple standards - completely without the outer glamour of the supernormal; indeed Mani caught herself thinking that, apart from the general beauty of the palace and the wonder-working drink, this simple activity here at the very highest summit of the mountain was a miracle in itself. Here in particular she had expected the highest outer unfoldment of the supernormal abilities - as she had seen them all along the way with her own eyes and experienced them with her own feeling and reason. |
