To the king's son in turn the gold did not mean anything in particular, and he gave it to the gardener for his children to play
with - and not to buy something.

As natural as it was for the princess to value gold lower than the light of enlightenment, as natural it was for the king's son in turn that gold belonged to the field of toys - good enough for children to toy around with and to enjoy.
This inner natural attitude characterizes the attitude of a born sage and is a feature of a king.

“A king does not work for gold, silver, and precious stones, like the ministers did so laboriously; the king owns these goods in abundance, and in the same manner in which they fall into his hands from somewhere he passes them on quickly, but with the advice to use them for childlike play and not to deal with them seriously like with something of value.

Important for the king's son was his golden hair: important for him was only the light of enlightenment, and that links him with the princess predestinating the two a successful royal couple.
