And as Mani and Sol speedily walked further up the mountain of happiness, Mani experienced the mightily sounding sun-rise; first she noticed that the sun blinked red-golden from behind the top of the trees, and how he then rose swiftly into the star-splendour of the first deep-blue and then bright-blue sky.

Now the two mighty heavenly bodies of cosmic life stood at the firmament.
To the left the golden sun glowed full of warming happiness of life, and to the right the silvery moon shone full of cooling joy of life; and Mani noticed how within her too the warming glow of her feeling rose upwards, and how the cooling floods of the clarity of her mind streamed down meeting the glow of happiness; she experienced how these two mighty sources of life united, how they permeated each other creatively, cooling and warming each other in many ways, and gave her an infinitely quiet, enlivening world of delight.

In this warmth-giving, bright sunshine of the day and the coolness-giving moonlight of the night Mani and Sol entered the next forest-clearing.

Mani saw a boy and a girl playing there with a ball which on one side shone golden like the sun and on the other gleamed bright as silver like the moon.

As the two threw the ball at each other, full of playful joy, its sun-side smiled at the moon all the time, and at the same time its moon-side smiled continuously at the sun as if the faces of the ball were in intimate loving conversation with the noble stars.
