Now
Mani also discovered the crew of the flying ship; they had joined her
girl-friends whom apparently they knew quite well. Now they greeted Mani friendly, and Hans, the milleris son, and his wife, the daughter of the czar, smiled at her full of deep affection. Mani
was introduced by her brother to the crew of the flying ship. When Mani and Sol told the kind alf who had built the ship and who was also the teacher of the group, that they wanted to go to the Island of Overflowing Wealth, and Sol said to do so they would have to get back to their boat which they had left at the shore of the island, the prince of the alfs offered full of friendliness to take them there in the flying ship. To think of sailing through the air in the flying ship was very appealing to Mani. Together
with her brother she thanked for the kind invitation. The alf took a small scarf from his pocket and gave it to the milleris son so that he may bring the flying ship into shape; Hans left and rushed ahead to the harbour of the castle. |
