The
King of Winter in the Sign of the Full Moon |

When
Mani awoke as if from deep sleep she heard a lovely song which began
to permeate her, fanning her with cosy warmth. As she opened her eyes,
she saw the three beautiful girls sitting at the well again, spinning
their golden threads. To the right Mani recognized the winter-mountain; this time it looked
like a finely polished rock of silver. The trees, shrubs and grasses, that moved along under its protection,
harvested multicoloured light from it, and they were flowerstrewn like
in the most beautiful spring. But where before the unfathomable crevice had yawned, now there sat
a sage, dressed in white garments, on a silvery throne. Garlands of jewelled flowers hung around the neck of the mighty, and a pure and delicate music came from them, blending harmoniously with the lovely songs of the three virgins, who were weaving the gold at the wonder-well. Above the silver-mountain the moon moved along her light-giving path;
her rays alighted in myriads of silvery-white dew-drops of pure consciousness
on the head of the ruler of wisdom, adorned with crystals. Many rainbows big and small stretched from the silvery mountain everywhere, and the moon wrapped delicate white veils around all those bridges of bliss, thus covering all of nature with a scintillating light-adorned mist of many colours. Mani noticed, that she had become all calm and settled within her,
and that this quiet spread cool and pleasantly into her understanding. |
