In the evening however, when the moon spread her mellow radiance over all the world, the girls set the dew-sails of the ship; and the nocturnal companion in the sky gave them good speed with her cool light-winds.

Then the vessel glistened so silvery-bright that it looked as if the full moon in her brilliance was travelling the nightly seas in the shape of a ship.

But when, at the time of the new light, the sun and the moon both covered their faces, the twinkling starry sky greeted the smiling girls.
And they set the star-sails of their ship towards the innumerable lights.

Immediately their ship glistened like the starry firmament.
And whoever saw it, thought all the lights of the whole wide world held a convention sailing over the sea.

And with the winds of rays the beautiful miraculous craft thundered over the world ocean as if it wanted to plough all waves at once.
High billowed the sea, and her roaring waves played a wanton, boisterous song which continued until in the morning the beloved sun rose in the east and powerfully heralded the new day.

Mysterious, however, were the serene songs of the moon which this brisk companion whispered over the silvery gleaming waves with her winds of lights, telling the girls the stories of eternity.

And at dawn and at dusk, when the sun, the moon and the stars changed guard, and when these celestial comrades of old waved at each other with their innumerable radiant arms, they fanned these subtle cosmic winds together.
And life itself seemed to enter the world ocean and rejuvenate all.

And when during these quiet times of dawn and dusk the sun, moon, and stars showered their combined effulgence over the glistening vessel, she came under the protection of the cosmic winds.
And with swelling sails she then flew over the twinkling, subtly wrinkling sea.
