“The golden sun-sacrifice here takes place within everyone who practises meditation under the expert guidance of his cosmic sacrificial priest.

“The priests of the sacrifice are the inner cosmic life-breath as the high priest and the two accompanying main priests, the feeling-aspect of the cosmic life-breath - pure energy of life - and the understanding-aspect of the cosmic life-breath - pure intelligence of life.

“The three main priests form the eternal sustaining core of this main sun-sacrifice which the boys and girls perform here - like they formed the core of the main full-moon sacrifice before which was performed by those pracitising in the silvery-white forest of the quiet ways.

“Corresponding to the main moon-sacrifice, here at this main sun-sacrifice too the twelve priests are, in the process of the formation of free conscience, the representatives of the ruling gods when pure self-awareness is attained and maintained.

“Associated with the highest consulting sacrificial priests are the sun- and moonalfs as the executive knowers and helpers of the sacrifice, and these again are joined by the mind-giants as the administrators of the sacrifice.

“Those sacrificing are the young people whom we see assembled around the bright fires; in their meditations they donate immeasurably rich, golden gifts of the mind that have accumulated over long periods of time, and which are mostly brought here by the feeling from the fields of their conscience.

At the great moon-sacrifice however, man donates the silvery-white gifts of the mind that are mainly brought here by the understanding from the fields of the free will; and within the moon-sacrifice they harvest - without noticing it - immeasurable golden riches of pure happiness of life, which they now bring with their feeling and donate again in the great sun-sacrifice.

“Here too, at the great sun-sacrifice, men hand over their high gifts of life, together with the norns and the giants which rule over the elements.

“Here, like at the great moon-sacrifice, the human mind is the place of sacrifice; and this time, here at the great sun-sacrifice, pure self-awareness is the altar on which is placed every golden gift of the mind, no matter how small it is, by the almighty arms of the feeling. The golden oblations are all the impressions of feeling to which the one sacrificing has bound himself so far.

Thus the oblations are mostly impressions of the conscience from the store-house of the mental memories of the sacrificer - images of men, former friends or foes, or of animals or plants, but also images of feeling of the unanimated nature, like stone-sculptures of all kinds.

In an integrated manner the feeling here sacrifices mainly impressions of sound, experiences of touch, images of form and taste, and impressions of smell, and in that manner purifies the conscience of the sacrificer.
