And now, that her brother had pointed it out to her, Mani realized that almost unnoticeably swift streams emanated from the man on the shipis bridge, sometimes mainly from his radiant eyes, at other times from his ears, then again from his nose or also from his mouth, and sometimes also from his skin - particularly from the palms of his hands.

These fine light-rays then changed their subtle colours - sometimes they were golden-yellow, then fiery red again, and sometimes so deep-blue that Mani could hardly distinguish them anymore.

More and more clearly however, she could see that these arrows of light penetrated the various parts of the ship, creating there something like a froth of light which looked like eddys of air of utmost subtlety; indeed, now she realized the whole ship being a conglomerate of twinkling and glistening currents of air flooded with light, or also eddies of light filled with air.
In either case light and air were obviously the prominent elements of which the excellently guided ship was made.

“The light-streams, which the one practising sends into the craft, are his streams of control, his own inner, finest forces of free will, by which he controls from the level of pure consciousness all the changes the ship undergoes,” Sol explained.

“The leader of the ship uses one basic stream, which in principle upholds the respective state of the ship, and building on that, he sends out other impulses of many colours which change this state, thus impelling the craft or causing it to change the direction, or also to make it smaller or bigger.
