The Power of the Cognitive Forces | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
You certainly noticed that quite spontaneously you gained more inner insight into your outer experience,” Sol said to his sister. ”This is due to the fact that we are getting closer and closer to the rings of knowledge. Because of the exercises of the pupils, the forces of cognition are more and more enlivened within us, and thus a natural understanding of all events of nature grows within us.” “It
is the cognitive forces that move the whole world and that keep it moving;
but the same impulses of happiness also inspire our fantasy, and thus
the colourful impressions of the outer worldly phenomena appear within
us. “Due to incomplete memories, but also through doubt, through the distrust that comes with it, and the fear that follows, the clear image of reality within our mind is being distorted during our cognitive process.” “In this manner those impressions form which we call bad, uncomfortable and ugly. The scenes with the ugly gigantic women or the grim warriors therefore were only the expression of an inner incomplete attitude of mind.” “An
incomplete inner view always allows only incomplete, unsatisfying outer
impressions. “Therefore the distorted, less clear, negative picture of the world with the giantesses changed so impressively after your deep invigorating rest, into the lively world of happiness and perfect harmony, and from a higher level of insight you saw the three wonder-working fairies and their lovely miraculous play in the world of enlightenment.” “Many
think, from their personal and restricted view, that winter and summer
are opposed to each other, or even enemies, or that they excluded each
other. “But this notion comes from the imperfect coordination of the faculties of feeling and understanding when observing natural events; for if someone is not in agreement within himself about what is right or wrong - when his feeling says something is right, and his understanding tells him something else is right, and he cannot integrate the two findings - then the whole outer world appears to him on the basis of his own inner discord.” “In
the footsteps of this discord follows the inner doubt, and is joined
again by oneis own rejection of the events in the environment that seem
to assail one. |
