“If, for example, one wants to walk over water, one has to give oneis body the weight of air.
This means that one pumps so much of cosmic breath into oneis body, that it assumes the subtle structure of air - that is, without its shape falling apart, because someone who practises does not want to dissolve into air, he just wants to become as light as it.”

“If one of the students for example goes into the water and walks along the bottom, then he must not reduce his weight, but increase it instead.
In that case he has to remove all the air of inhalation and exhalation from his body, but still has to remain functionally intact as before.”

“This he achieves only if he knows how to breathe on the level of the cosmic life-breath - not on the level of breathing in and out, but beyond it.
Then he does not breathe outwardly with his lungs
- which would not be possible under water anyway, but inwardly by pumping the cosmic breath into all the cells of his body, thus keeping it functioning; indeed he makes his body even more efficient than by simply breathing in and out as usual.”

“Walking over the fire in turn requires the lightness of air. In theory the weight of fire would have been sufficient when walking over the water; but since water and fire easily vex each other, one generally prefers the element of the air over that of fire.”

“If one wants to walk over the water in the form of fire, one has to handle the element of heat very carefully, and in addition to that one has to permanently pump air between oneis person and the water.”

“For a walk through the fire the form of fire offers itself - although one could also penetrate the flames in the shape of air or space, without being hurt.
The reverberating shape of space, in turn, is required when walking through the heavy golden palace gates, because sound is able to penetrate the portals unhindered.”

“The attention lies particularly on the outer handling of the elements. The prerequisite of success, however, lies in the very personal mastery of the elements in oneis own body. This means that one knows how to put the body into the state of the desired element from within.”

“Do you see the silvery-white gleaming man, sitting to the right in front of us on a richly decorated stage?” Sol asked his sister.
“This learned moon-alf is a relative of Iwaldi. With his high art he has created this marvellous palace together with the park, and he is also the versed adviser of those practising.
We will come across this high art of the alfs later in the rings of cognition.”

“Here too you see twelve judges of Agni seated around the clearing; they guard the students' mastery of the divine forces.” Now Sol beckoned his sister to move on, and speedily they went up the hill.
